Dear Syn3h community,

Moderators have been improving this site greatly! There are some posts people are not wanting to be hidden. The log is currently here on this link: http://marsxplr.com/log.  This link is only on the moderation post Aubrey made. I'm suggesting that this link be called Mod Log or Log as one of the site buttons on this website. What do you think? Please say if you do agree with it or not.

Eric

EDIT: The Mod Log button is now on the site! W00T!

EDIT AGAIN: It's Removed from the Site now.

I believe that Aubrey is already working on this, or at least getting to it. The point of moderators was to allow Aubrey to do his own work without having to worry about the site as much... though i do think this feature, along with others, should be added, let's give him some time to complete some of his projects.

Agreed Eric! I kept a link but it should be easily available.

Agreed babaG!

BTW - Today,  I hid a post created by account name (ACCLeader) an obvious faker who actually told me he was intent on ruining ACC. So many people just don't get it. Bam.

Looking at the moderator log, I see a number of things about which I am upset. For one, posts are sometimes moderated without a reason for it being posted. This is usually done by most moderators and everyone else should follow suit. Secondly, posts are sometimes moderated that have obvious merit and are not in any way offensive or irrelevant. I see this as being a possible abuse of moderator power.

Please provide examples of posts you think are wrongfully hidden.

Elfman,

If you see one of us hide a post you think shouldn't be hidden, please PM us (you always have the right to say what you think is right) and tell us why it shouldn't be hidden.

@ Elfman - How about you link just one of these posts for all mods to view and discuss?

Please be very specific about your complaint regarding that post and why it should not have been hidden or resolved.

Please choose your words carefully and avoid the word "abuse" for now.

No specific reason was given for the hiding of this post. Secondly, part of the author's claim was quite credible: why can't players use the jet if they wish if it is not in a n00bish way, and this had not yet been thoroughly discussed. That's all I am suggesting.

Btw, thanks for the heads up. I'll try to pick my words more carefully.

Replying to your specific example, the post may have been incorrectly hidden, where it should have been resolved. Other than this explanation, i suppose you may have a winning argument in saying it was wrongfully hidden. Despite this, i generally trust all moderators to do their job and do it well. There may be minor hiccups with this system but this should be expected with any system. I am not discouraging you from speaking your mind or reporting these but please do it sparingly. If you have a problem:

  • PM the mod you have a problem with.
  • If the problem persists, PM them once more.
  • If it continues yet again, feel free to PM any other moderators you would like.
  • If and only if all else fails, PM Aubrey on the matter. A moderators job is to relieve Aubrey of these duties so he can focus on more important work.
Thank you.

The post has been resolved, although I think it might have deserved hiding.

The main idea of the post should have been hidden, but the comments talking about the control of the host should not have.

Resolved it is then.

EDIT:

it appears to have been hidden by the original poster

when I found it it was hidden, but it should have been resolved according to the log.

I think blah hid it.

(dude did hide it first, but it appears blah did as well)

Elfman, where are the improperly hidden posts with obvious merit? Link the next one you're upset about please.

And if Blah wants to hide his post I would not resolve it. I felt that discussion was useful in that it was yet another unjustified complaint about booting by yet another misbehaver.

OK! Now that that's been cleared up, I hope people learn from it (the above discussion) . Back to what people think of the moderator log!

The moderator log should always be easily available so yeah Eric, I agree. For now, we can bam this or to be more obvious for new people, you could create a dedicated post with the link to the log in biggest font and all of us can keep it bammed.

Eric means that it should be an easily accessible link, like on the main tool bar. Right now, it is not. It is only a link inside of a post.

the log should NOT be easily accessible because anyone can look at the posts that are hidden and some of them like the most recent spam attacks are not suitable for young children.

Good point Mr_Mars however Aubrey himself posted the link, maybe not suspecting that spams would be created in such numbers but definatly knowing their content would often contain well, what they contain.

Your comment is not spam, the comment after yours, which is now blocked as well as the user name, was the one marked as spam.
